The Nebraska Cornhuskers set an aggressive pace from the start, ending the first quarter tied with Maryland at 16 points each. However, by halftime, they had fallen slightly behind with a total of 31 points against Maryland's 36. Undeterred by this minor deficit, Nebraska surged ahead in the third quarter adding an impressive 29 points to their score and concluded their scoring spree with another 30 points in the fourth quarter.

Nebraska's shooting was particularly effective; they achieved a field goal percentage of fifty percent on sixty attempts and were even more accurate from beyond the arc where they shot forty-eight percent on twenty-five attempts. Their proficiency extended to free throws as well where they made eighteen out of twenty-two attempts which translates to an eighty-one percent success rate.
