The game started with the Commodores taking an early lead in the first quarter, but it was short-lived as the Rebels bounced back strongly in the second quarter. The Ole Miss team showcased their offensive capabilities by scoring 21 points in both the second and third quarters. Their performance was bolstered by an impressive display from inside the paint where they scored 30 points over their adversaries who managed only 22 points in that area.

Ole Miss also excelled at free throw shooting, converting 20 out of 24 attempts which translated to an outstanding 83 percent success rate. This sharpshooting from the line played a crucial role in their victory. On top of that, they capitalized on turnovers by scoring 21 points off them while maintaining control over their own errors with no team turnovers recorded for them.

Defensively, Ole Miss held strong as well; they grabbed a total of 39 rebounds compared to Vanderbilt's 29. This included securing more offensive rebounds (11) than Vanderbilt (7), which gave them additional scoring opportunities through second-chance points totaling to 16 for Ole Miss.

Despite facing pressure from eight steals by Vanderbilt players, Ole Miss managed to keep up their momentum throughout all four quarters. They finished strong with a fourth-quarter tally of 16 points against Vanderbilt's persistent effort that saw them score an equal amount during this period.

Looking ahead, fans can anticipate watching more action-packed games as The Ole Miss Rebels are scheduled to play away against South Carolina Gamecocks at Colonial Life Arena located in Columbia on February 4th at noon Central Time. This game will be broadcasted nationally on ESPN2 channel number two hundred nine for those eager to follow along from home or anywhere else across the country.
