From tip-off at Colonial Life Arena, the Rebels showed determination but struggled to keep pace with the Gamecocks' offensive onslaught. On individual performances for Ole Miss, there were notable efforts despite facing adversity throughout the game. They shot at a rate of thirty-five percent from two-point range and twenty-nine percent from beyond the arc while converting seventy-six percent of free throws into valuable points.


Defensively though, it was an uphill battle for Ole Miss as they recorded three blocks and four steals over four quarters of play. They also gathered thirty-seven total rebounds which included seven offensive boards that led to six second-chance points – showcasing their persistence under both baskets.

The Gamecocks displayed superior control over proceedings by maintaining an impressive forty-eight percent field goal accuracy and outscoring Ole Miss significantly in fast break situations by eighteen points to nine. Their defensive prowess was evident too; they amassed eleven steals contributing to seventeen points off turnovers compared to just two for Ole Miss.


South Carolina's well-rounded performance was further highlighted by their eighteen assists which demonstrated effective ball movement against only four from Ole Miss – indicative of how teamwork played a crucial role in this encounter.
