Can the Aztecs Bounce Back After a Tough Loss to the Rams at Moby Arena?

In a conference game that saw the San Diego State Aztecs face off against the Colorado State Rams, the scoreboard reflected a challenging outing for the visiting team. The Aztecs, unable to secure victory, fell with a final score of 50-82. This result moves their season record to an even split of victories and defeats.

Colorado State Rams VS San Diego State Aztecs

The game held at Moby Arena in Fort Collins was attended by 2,434 spectators who witnessed a contest where both teams fought hard but with differing fortunes. The San Diego State Aztecs struggled from two-point range, making only 10 out of 34 attempts which translated into a mere 29 percent success rate. Their three-point attempts were more fruitful as they converted six out of fourteen shots, rounding up to about 43 percent accuracy.

Despite these efforts from beyond the arc, it was not enough to counteract their overall field goal percentage which stood at just 33 percent compared to their opponents' impressive 52 percent. The free throw line offered some respite for the Aztecs as they managed to hit twelve out of eighteen attempts giving them approximately 67 percent efficiency.

On defense and rebounding fronts, there were notable disparities between the two teams. The Aztecs gathered a total of thirty rebounds throughout the game; however, only four were offensive rebounds which limited their second-chance opportunities significantly – they scored just one second-chance point during play. Defensively they managed twenty-six rebounds but failed to register any blocks against Colorado State's offense.

Turnovers proved costly for San Diego State as well; nineteen turnovers led directly to eight points for Colorado State who capitalized on these mistakes effectively. In contrast, Colorado State turned over possession twelve times but this resulted in fewer points off turnovers for San Diego State.

The home team also demonstrated superior ball distribution with nineteen assists leading to scores compared with twelve by San Diego State players – reflecting better ball movement and teamwork by Colorado State Rams throughout this encounter.

Looking ahead after this setback on court: fans can mark their calendars for when "the" San Diego State Aztecs will host "the" New Mexico Lobos at Viejas Arena at Aztec Bowl located in sunny San Diego on February 7th at noon local time (Pacific Standard Time). This upcoming match will be available for viewing so supporters can follow all live action as it unfolds within that iconic venue nestled within zip code area:92182.
