Aztecs Outpaced by Lady Rebels in High-Scoring Affair at Cox Pavilion

In a recent face-off on the basketball court, the San Diego State Aztecs were outmatched by the UNLV Lady Rebels with a final score of 41-100. The Aztecs, unable to secure a victory, saw their record affected while the Lady Rebels improved theirs significantly. The game unfolded at Cox Pavilion in Las Vegas, where 1,851 spectators witnessed an intense matchup.

San Diego State Aztecs VS UNLV Runnin' Rebels

From the opening quarter, it was clear that the home team held dominance over the court. The Lady Rebels set an aggressive pace early on with 28 points against a modest 7 from the Aztecs. As play progressed, San Diego State struggled to find their rhythm against UNLV's robust defense and sharp shooting. By halftime, it was evident that catching up would be an uphill battle for the visiting team.

The third quarter showed some promise for San Diego State as they managed to put up 16 points—their highest in any quarter during this game—but still fell short of making significant dents into UNLV's lead which had been bolstered by another strong performance of 27 points in that period alone.

Offensively, San Diego State faced challenges throughout; they shot only 28 percent from field goals and made just five out of twenty attempts from beyond the arc—a mere 25 percent success rate. Their free throw accuracy stood higher at around two-thirds successful attempts but wasn't enough to turn tides in their favor.

Defensively too, there were struggles for San Diego State as they could not manage any blocks and garnered only six steals throughout all four quarters compared to nine by UNLV. Rebounding also proved difficult with a total of nineteen rebounds (fifteen defensive and three offensive), starkly lower than UNLV's forty-four rebounds which included thirty-three defensive grabs.

Despite these challenges, there were noteworthy efforts on individual levels; nine assists demonstrated teamwork among players even amidst adversity while six personal fouls indicated disciplined play under pressure.

Looking ahead after this tough contest on foreign ground against ranked opponents like UNLV Lady Rebels who showcased why they are one of top teams with fast break points tallying up to twenty-two and converting turnovers into twenty-one additional points thanks to their high assists turnover ratio above two—San Diego State must regroup quickly as another challenge looms close on horizon.

Fans can look forward to supporting their team when San Diego State Aztecs host Wyoming Cowgirls at Viejas Arena located in beautiful city of San Diego on March 5th at 7:00 PM local time (PST). This upcoming game will be available for viewing pleasure ensuring fans don't miss any action-packed moments as these athletes take court once again striving for victory.
