South Florida Bulls Stampede Past Tulane Green Wave at Devlin Fieldhouse

The South Florida Bulls improved their season record to an impressive 70-63 victory over the Tulane Green Wave. The game, which took place at the Devlin Fieldhouse in New Orleans, saw the Bulls showcase a dominant performance, outscoring their opponents in three of four quarters.

The Bulls started strong with 21 points in the first quarter and maintained their momentum with another 20 points before halftime. Although they experienced a slight dip scoring only 10 points in the third quarter, they bounced back with a robust 19-point finish in the final period. The Green Wave fought valiantly but fell short, managing to surpass the Bulls only in the third quarter with a solid 16-point effort.


South Florida's offense was firing on all cylinders as they shot an efficient 44 percent from the field and nearly half of their two-point attempts found their mark at a rate of 49 percent. Their free throw shooting was also reliable as they made good on 68 percent of their shots from the charity stripe.


Defensively, South Florida was just as impressive. They limited Tulane to just a 34 percent shooting performance overall and an even lower three-point percentage at just around one-third successful attempts. The defensive pressure resulted in six steals for South Florida and contributed to ten turnovers by Tulane which were converted into ten crucial points for South Florida.


On top of that, South Florida's fast break execution added another layer to their game plan contributing fourteen fast break points compared to Tulane's nine. This aggressive play style kept Tulane on its heels throughout most of the match-up.


Rebounding also played a key role; South Florida grabbed thirty-eight rebounds including eleven offensive boards that led to eleven second-chance points – matching what Tulane managed despite having more team rebounds overall.


The assists column showed both teams facilitating well but it was South Florida who edged out with sixteen assists leading them towards this important conference win while maintaining discipline by committing fewer personal fouls than Tulane did throughout this contest.
