UNLV Lady Rebels Dominate at Cox Pavilion Against Charleston Cougars

In a commanding display of basketball, the UNLV Lady Rebels outplayed the Charleston Cougars with a final score of 85-60. The Lady Rebels' season record now stands at an impressive 1-0, while the Cougars fall to 0-1 in their opening game.

The UNLV Lady Rebels showcased a robust performance on their home court at Cox Pavilion. From the onset, they established a lead with 26 points in the first quarter against the Cougars' 16 and maintained their dominance throughout the game. The home team's offense was firing on all cylinders, as they scored consistently across all four quarters, adding another 19 points in the second quarter and peaking with 25 points in the third before closing out with an additional 15 points in the fourth.


The Lady Rebels excelled not only offensively but also on defense, recording nine steals and four blocks during play. Their defensive prowess was complemented by an efficient rebounding effort that saw them gather a total of 51 rebounds—31 defensive and an additional offensive haul of 14 rebounds.


Offensively, UNLV's shooting accuracy was notable; they achieved a field goal percentage of approximately forty-one percent from seventy-nine attempts and were particularly effective from beyond the arc where they converted thirty-three percent of their three-point attempts into twelve successful shots. Their free throw performance was also commendable as they made eighty-two percent from eleven attempts.


The Charleston Cougars struggled to keep pace with UNLV's scoring rate despite putting up sixty points themselves. They managed to sink only thirty-one percent of field goals from sixty-eight attempts and were less effective from three-point range with just sixteen percent accuracy. However, their free throw shooting was reliable at seventy-nine percent success rate from nineteen shots taken.


The next engagement for UNLV fans will be against Utah Tech Trailblazers at Cox Pavilion located at Las Vegas on November fifteen scheduled for seven-thirty PM local time (Pacific Time).
