The game unfolded at Pauley Pavilion in Los Angeles, where both teams showcased their skills. The Lady Rebels started strong with a solid first quarter performance of 16 points but were outpaced by the Bluejays who put up 23 points. Both teams maintained their offensive momentum into the second quarter, each adding another set of 16 and 21 points respectively to their totals.

UNLV's offense was led by an impressive two-point shooting percentage of sixty-three percent as they made twenty-seven out of forty-three attempts from inside the arc. Their overall field goal percentage stood at fifty-one percent with thirty-two successful shots out of sixty-three attempts. Despite struggling from beyond the arc with only twenty-five percent efficiency on three-pointers, they managed to sink five from distance.

The team's effort inside was evident as they racked up forty-six points in paint and secured eight second-chance points. However, free throw opportunities were not fully capitalized on; UNLV made just four out of nine free throws for a forty-four percent completion rate.

Defensively, UNLV managed to gather twenty-nine total rebounds – twenty defensive and nine offensive – while also recording one block and eight steals during play. They kept turnovers low at nine but could not match Creighton's assist-to-turnover ratio which stood at a higher value than UNLV's own ratio of one point seventy-eight.

On the other side of court, Creighton displayed strong teamwork with twenty-three assists contributing to an effective offense that saw them shoot forty-eight percent from field goal range and an outstanding one hundred percent from free throw line making all ten attempts. Their three-point shooting was particularly notable as they hit fifteen out of thirty-four attempts for forty-four percent accuracy.

Creighton also had a slight edge defensively over UNLV; they grabbed thirty-five rebounds including seven offensive boards which contributed to nine second-chance points and executed two blocks along with seven steals leading to fourteen points off turnovers.

As fans reflect on this game where lead changes occurred five times and scores were tied thrice, it is clear that both teams demonstrated significant determination on court.
