Lady Rebels Dominate Aztecs in Commanding Victory at Cox Pavilion

The UNLV Lady Rebels showcased their dominance with a 24-0 record after an impressive performance against the San Diego State Aztecs, who now stand at 0-1. The final score read a lopsided 100-41, reflecting the Lady Rebels' sheer control throughout the game.

UNLV Rebels VS San Diego State Aztecs

From the opening quarter, the Lady Rebels set a high-octane pace, outscoring their opponents by a substantial margin. They began with an assertive 28 points in the first quarter and maintained their momentum to add another commanding 23 points before halftime. Their offensive execution was nearly flawless; they shot an outstanding 61 percent from the field and an even more impressive 76 percent from within the two-point range.

The home team's sharpshooters were on fire beyond the arc as well, sinking 16 of their three-point attempts to finish with a remarkable shooting percentage of about half from downtown. This long-range barrage contributed significantly to their total scoring output and kept pressure on San Diego State throughout.

UNLV's playmaking was also on full display as they dished out a notable number of assists, demonstrating unselfish play and fluid ball movement against San Diego State's defense. The Lady Rebels capitalized on turnovers as well, scoring 21 points off San Diego State's mistakes while only giving up six points themselves in such situations.

On defense, UNLV proved just as formidable. They snatched nine steals which disrupted many of San Diego State's offensive efforts. Moreover, they dominated both ends of the glass with a total rebound count that more than doubled that of their opponents'. This included securing eight offensive rebounds which led to valuable second-chance opportunities resulting in additional points for UNLV.

San Diego State struggled to find any rhythm offensively against UNLV’s stifling defense. Shooting just under one-third from two-point territory and only making five three-pointers all game hindered any chance for them to keep up with UNLV’s scoring pace. Their free throw accuracy was decent at around two-thirds successful attempts but did little to close the widening gap created by UNLV’s relentless attack.

Despite this tough outing for them at Cox Pavilion in Las Vegas before an audience of over eighteen hundred fans, it is worth noting that they managed six steals and provided some resistance through eleven personal fouls without causing any foul outs or ejections – showing discipline despite being under constant pressure.

Looking ahead for fans of The University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV) Lady Rebels: The next challenge awaits when they visit Utah State Aggies at Dee Glen Smith Spectrum in Logan on March 5th at around six o'clock local time (Mountain Time).
