Can the UNLV Lady Rebels' Precision Overwhelm Colorado State Rams Next?

The UNLV Lady Rebels, ranked 21st, showcased their dominance in a commanding 83-35 victory over the Fresno State Bulldogs. The Lady Rebels improved their record with this win, while the Bulldogs faced another setback. The game unfolded at Thomas & Mack Center where fans witnessed a one-sided affair as the home team took control from the start.

Fresno State Bulldogs VS UNLV Rebels

The Lady Rebels set an aggressive pace early on, ending the first quarter ahead with a score of 19-13. They continued to build on their lead with an impressive second-quarter performance, adding another 25 points to their tally while holding Fresno State to just 7 points. By halftime, it was clear that UNLV was in firm control of the game's tempo and strategy.

UNLV's offensive efficiency was evident as they shot an outstanding 52 percent from field goals and an exceptional 57 percent from beyond the arc. Their defense was equally formidable; they amassed a total of six blocks and seven steals throughout the game. This defensive pressure contributed to Fresno State turning over possession ten times.

The Bulldogs struggled offensively against UNLV's tight defense, managing only a field goal percentage of 21 and hitting just two out of twenty-five three-point attempts for a meager eight percent success rate. Despite shooting well from the free-throw line at eighty-eight percent, it wasn't enough to challenge UNLV's robust lead.

UNLV also excelled in ball distribution with eighteen assists compared to Fresno State's six, showcasing superior teamwork and court vision. The Lady Rebels capitalized on turnovers scoring ten points off them and added ten more through second-chance opportunities thanks to their offensive rebounding efforts.

Fresno State did manage five steals but couldn't convert these into significant fast-break opportunities, scoring only two fast-break points against four by UNLV. Personal fouls were also an issue for Fresno State as they committed eighteen compared to nine by UNLV which further hampered their ability to gain momentum.
