UTEP Miners Set to Host Louisiana Tech Lady Techsters at Don Haskins Center

As the UTEP Miners prepare to welcome the Louisiana Tech Lady Techsters to the Don Haskins Center, fans are buzzing with anticipation for what promises to be a riveting encounter. The UTEP Miners have shown resilience and skill in their past performances, and this upcoming game is expected to be no different.

UTEP Miners VS Louisiana Tech Bulldogs

In their last meeting on December 21, 2023, against the Fighting Illini, UTEP demonstrated a strong offensive presence with an impressive field goal percentage of 55 and an even more remarkable two-point shooting percentage of 63. Despite falling short by ten points in that game, they outscored their opponents in points from turnovers and second-chance points. This indicates a team that's not only aggressive on defense but also efficient at capitalizing on opportunities.

The Miners' ability to dominate inside was evident as they racked up 44 points in the paint compared to Illinois' 32. However, turnovers were a concern for UTEP as they gave up possession sixteen times which translated into twenty-one points for Illinois. To come out victorious against Louisiana Tech, ball security will need to be prioritized.

On December 20th against UIC Flames, another aspect came into light – rebounding. The Miners struggled on the boards with only thirty-one rebounds while allowing forty-six which contributed significantly to their defeat despite having seven steals and maintaining an assist-turnover ratio above one.

The most recent home game for UTEP was a nail-biter against Portland Pilots that went into overtime on December 9th. Although ultimately losing by five points, there were positive takeaways including thirteen steals indicating active hands defensively and ten fast break points showcasing their ability to push tempo when necessary.

Looking ahead at Louisiana Tech Lady Techsters' statistics from previous games reveals that they are formidable opponents who can't be taken lightly. Their three-point shooting stands out as one area where they could potentially exploit the Miners if left unchecked.

With these insights in mind, it's clear that if UTEP wants success in this matchup they must focus on maintaining high shooting percentages while tightening up defensively especially beyond the arc where Louisiana Tech could pose threats.

Fans eagerly awaiting this clash should mark January 25th at Don Haskins Center as essential viewing – tip-off is scheduled for January 26th at 9:00 PM local time (El Paso). For those unable to attend in person rest assured you won't miss any action; details regarding broadcast networks will follow soon ensuring everyone can witness every moment of what promises to be an exhilarating game!
