Second Quarter

In the second quarter, Virginia began to find its rhythm offensively and defensively. Caitlin Weimar's presence in the paint was crucial as she contributed significantly to both scoring and blocking shots. The Cavaliers outscored Tech 18-11 in this period, taking a narrow lead into halftime. Their ability to control rebounds and limit second-chance points for Georgia Tech proved pivotal.

Third Quarter

The third quarter saw an offensive surge from both teams, but it was Virginia who managed to maintain their edge by scoring 22 points compared to Georgia Tech's 20. Paris Clark led the charge for Virginia with her efficient shooting and playmaking abilities. Her performance helped keep momentum on Virginia’s side as they continued to hold off any comeback attempts from Tech.

Fourth Quarter

As tensions rose in the final quarter at Hank McCamish Pavilion, both teams tightened up defensively. However, it was Virginia's resilience that shone through as they held Georgia Tech to just 13 points while managing only 8 themselves. The Cavaliers’ defensive efforts were highlighted by Romi Levy’s crucial steals that disrupted key plays from Georgia Tech.

Ultimately, it was a combination of strategic defense and timely offense that secured a narrow victory for Virginia with a final score of 61-59 over Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets at Hank McCamish Pavilion.

Looking ahead, fans can catch more action when the Cavaliers face Syracuse Orange on January 11th at John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville at 2:00 PM EST via ACC Network Extra broadcast online.
