First Quarter

The opening quarter saw both teams struggling to find their rhythm offensively. The Chiefs' defense was particularly active, with Jaylen Watson registering a sack and contributing significantly to keeping the Bolts from gaining early momentum. Despite these efforts, neither team managed to score in this period.

Second Quarter

As the second quarter unfolded, Patrick Mahomes showcased his dual-threat capability by rushing for a 12-yard touchdown, putting the Red Kingdom on the scoreboard first. However, Justin Herbert responded for Los Angeles with precise passing that led to a field goal by Cameron Dicker before halftime.

Third Quarter

In the third quarter, Harrison Butker extended Kansas City's lead with two successful field goals from distances of 29 and 47 yards. Meanwhile, Charles Omenihu's defensive prowess was evident as he recorded one and a half sacks against Herbert. Despite these efforts from KC's defense, Austin Ekeler's rushing helped set up another field goal for L.A., narrowing their deficit.

Fourth Quarter

The final quarter proved decisive as Herbert orchestrated an impressive drive culminating in Joshua Palmer's touchdown reception that gave L.A. its first lead of the game. Although Mahomes attempted several deep passes targeting Travis Kelce and Xavier Worthy late in regulation time—both of whom had notable receptions—the Bolts' defense held firm under pressure.
