Saints Stumble at Caesars Superdome Against Ravens
The New Orleans Saints faced a challenging contest at the Caesars Superdome, ending with a 13-27 defeat against the Baltimore Ravens. The Saints' season record now stands at 7-10, while the Ravens improved to 10-7.
In front of a crowd of 70,010 spectators, the Saints struggled to find their rhythm offensively. Despite completing two-thirds of their passes for a total of 223 yards and scoring one touchdown through the air, they were hindered by an interception and four sacks which cost them 28 yards. The longest pass completion was an impressive 41-yard touchdown. However, this was not enough as they only converted three out of eleven third-down attempts.
The ground game did not fare much better for the home team with only 48 rushing yards on fifteen attempts. Their longest run stretched for ten yards but failed to reach the end zone throughout the game.
Defensively, the Saints managed to sack their opponents three times and recorded five tackles for loss totaling seventeen negative yards against them. They also forced one turnover during play but could not capitalize on it effectively.
Special teams had some positive moments with field goal kickers maintaining a perfect record by making both attempted field goals from within thirty-nine yards. Punters also performed well averaging over forty-six net yards across five punts and placing two inside the twenty-yard line without any being returned or blocked.
Receiving efforts saw twenty completions with one resulting in a touchdown while accumulating ninety-five receiving yards after catches were made; however, there was also one dropped pass among these attempts.
