On special teams, Blake Grupe's perfect field goal record stood out as he successfully converted all three attempts with his longest being an impressive 51-yarder. These kicks were vital in keeping the game within reach until its final moments.


Defensive Highlights


The defensive side saw active participation from several players who worked tirelessly to contain Carolina's advances. Pete Werner led with six tackles and assisted on two others while also contributing one tackle for loss that demonstrated his defensive prowess throughout this matchup.

Nathan Shepherd shared half a sack with Carl Granderson; each displayed relentless pressure on Carolina's quarterback which resulted in combined sack yards of five and multiple quarterback hits that disrupted Carolina’s offensive rhythm at key moments.


Despite these efforts and Shemar Jean-Charles securing an interception that halted one of Carolina’s drives, it wasn't enough to secure victory for New Orleans as they narrowly missed out by one point.
