Washington Commanders Secure Victory Over Dallas Cowboys in Season Finale

The Washington Commanders concluded their regular season with a 12-5 record after a hard-fought victory against the Dallas Cowboys, who fell to a 7-10 finish. The final scoreboard read 23-19 in favor of the Commanders, marking a significant win at AT&T Stadium in Arlington.

Commanders' Offensive Highlights


The Commanders' offense was led by quarterback Marcus Mariota, who completed 83 percent of his passes for 161 yards and two touchdowns, showcasing his efficiency and control. Wide receiver Terry McLaurin was Mariota's top target, hauling in eight receptions for 62 yards and one touchdown. Tight end Zach Ertz also made significant contributions with five catches for 44 yards and a touchdown. The ground game added another dimension to the Commanders' attack, accumulating a total of 113 rushing yards. Marcus Mariota not only excelled through the air but also on the ground, leading with 56 rushing yards on five attempts and scoring once.


Defensive Standouts


On defense, safety Jeremy Chinn stood out with seven tackles and one sack contributing to the team's total of two sacks on the day. Defensive tackle Jonathan Allen also recorded a sack alongside three combined tackles. The defensive unit as a whole forced seven passes defended but did not manage any interceptions against the Cowboys' offense.

Special Teams Play


Special teams played an integral role in securing field position advantage throughout the game. Punter Tress Way had an impressive performance with five punts totaling 238 yards, placing three inside the Cowboys' 20-yard line which significantly contributed to controlling field position. Kicker Zane Gonzalez successfully converted all his attempts including one field goal from 47 yards out and two extra points.
