The Arizona Coyotes displayed commendable performance on their home ice, securing three points against the visiting Montreal Canadiens. The first period saw both teams netting one goal each, setting an evenly matched tone for the game. As play progressed into the second period, it was the Coyotes who managed to pull ahead with another goal, tipping the balance in their favor.

The third period witnessed both teams fiercely competing to clinch victory; however, it was ultimately Arizona that sealed their win with an additional goal. Despite a strong push from Montreal resulting in one more puck past Arizona's goaltender, it wasn't enough to overturn the outcome.

Throughout this intense matchup, Arizona's offense took a total of 35 shots on goal compared to Montreal's 30. The shooting accuracy of both teams was notable; however, it was Arizona's slightly higher shooting percentage of nine percent that proved decisive in this encounter.

On special teams play, both sides capitalized once on powerplay opportunities – Arizona from four chances and Montreal from five. Notably efficient were Arizona’s penalty killers who successfully fended off three out of four shorthanded situations they faced.

Defensively speaking, each team registered an equal number of hits at 19 apiece and demonstrated solid blocking abilities – ten for Arizona and twenty-five for Montreal. In terms of faceoffs though, there was a stark contrast as Montreal won significantly more draws with forty victories (64 percent) compared to twenty-three (36 percent) by their counterparts.

Arizona’s goaltending also played a pivotal role in their triumph; recording twenty-eight saves with an impressive save percentage of ninety-three percent which outperformed their opponents’ thirty-two saves at ninety-one percent save efficiency.

As fans look forward to future games after such an engaging contest between these two hockey clubs at Mullett Arena before an audience nearly reaching its full capacity of five thousand spectators - attention now turns towards upcoming fixtures on schedule.

The next challenge awaiting the Coyotes will be against Winnipeg Jets right here at Mullett Arena in Tempe. This encounter is set for November 4th and will commence promptly at 8 PM local time.
