Coyotes Outmaneuver Sharks in a 5-2 Victory at SAP Center

The Arizona Coyotes have improved their record to 4-3, while the San Jose Sharks now stand at 2-5 after a competitive face-off that ended with a score of 5-2 in favor of the visiting team. The Coyotes' performance was marked by an impressive offensive display and solid defense throughout the game.

At the SAP Center, home of the Sharks, fans witnessed an eventful match where the Arizona Coyotes showcased their scoring abilities early on by netting two goals in the first period. Despite not adding to their tally in the second period, they came back strong in the third with three additional goals. The Coyotes' offense was firing on all cylinders as they managed to put up a total of 28 shots with an impressive shooting percentage of 18 percent.

The powerplay unit for Arizona contributed significantly to their success by capitalizing on one out of three opportunities. Their lone powerplay goal came from just four shots during man advantages totaling four minutes. Even strength play saw them score four times from twenty-one shots, demonstrating their ability to maintain pressure across all situations.

Defensively, Arizona stood firm as well, blocking twelve shots and delivering fourteen hits over three periods. Their goaltender played a crucial role with twenty-five saves and boasting a perfect save percentage for this game. This defensive effort helped maintain their lead despite seven penalties resulting in fourteen penalty minutes.

On special teams, while shorthanded five times due to penalties taken by Arizona players, they allowed only one goal against them from six shots faced during these situations—a testament to both disciplined penalty killing and strong goaltending.

The San Jose Sharks managed two goals on twenty-seven shots but struggled to find consistency against a determined Coyote's defense. They had more opportunities on powerplays than Arizona but only converted once out of six chances despite spending over eight minutes with at least one extra skater.

Looking ahead for fans of the Coyotes: The team is scheduled for another away game against Seattle Kraken at Climate Pledge Arena on April 10th at 7:00 PM Pacific Time (PT). This matchup will be available for viewing across various networks including ESPN+ online and ROOT Sports NW television broadcast along with SCRIPPS internet streaming services.
