The game began with an early lead for the Colorado Avalanche who managed to slip one past the Coyotes' defense in the first period. The second period saw an offensive surge from the home team as they racked up three additional goals against Arizona. The Coyotes fought back valiantly and were rewarded in the third period when they capitalized on one of their three powerplay opportunities to put themselves on the scoreboard.

Arizona's efforts were highlighted by their tenacity during powerplays and even strength situations. They fired off 25 shots throughout the game, but only four during powerplays which yielded their lone goal. Their faceoff win percentage stood at 43 percent overall but dropped significantly during powerplays where they did not win any faceoffs out of four attempts.

Defensively, Arizona's goaltender faced a barrage of shots from Colorado's attackers, making 22 saves out of 26 shots for a save percentage rounding up to 85 percent. In contrast, even strength proved challenging as all four goals conceded occurred in these situations where his save percentage dipped to approximately 81 percent.

The Avalanche demonstrated strong gameplay across all fronts. Their shooting accuracy was evident as they scored four times from just over two dozen attempts resulting in an impressive shooting percentage of approximately 15 percent compared to Arizona's four percent. Moreover, Colorado excelled in faceoffs winning just over half against Arizona’s efforts.

As fans look forward to future games, attention now turns towards Mullett Arena where on December 27th at around seven PM local time (9 PM Eastern Time), fans can catch their next glimpse of action when 'the' Arizona Coyotes host 'the' Colorado Avalanche once again.
