Golden Knights Edge Out Coyotes in a Close Encounter at Mullett Arena

The Arizona Coyotes, with a record of 0-1, faced off against the Vegas Golden Knights who now hold a 1-0 record after the latest game at Mullett Arena ended 3-2. The Golden Knights managed to secure three points against the Coyotes' two in this evenly matched contest.

The home team, Arizona Coyotes, opened the scoring early in the first period but couldn't maintain their lead as the Golden Knights responded with three goals before the period ended. Despite not adding to their tally in the second and third periods, it was enough for Vegas to clinch victory. The Coyotes fought back valiantly and managed to put one more past their opponents' goaltender in the third period but fell just short of drawing level.

Arizona's performance was marked by resilience and determination. They registered 28 hits throughout the game compared to Vegas's 25 and won more faceoffs with a success rate of 60 percent over Vegas's 40 percent. However, they struggled to convert opportunities into goals despite taking 22 shots on goal.

The goaltending for both teams was formidable; each side boasted save percentages of 100 percent. The Arizona netminder made an impressive total of 31 saves from all attempts by Vegas players while his counterpart from Vegas made a total of 20 saves.

Special teams play didn't yield any advantage for either side as both teams failed to capitalize on their single powerplay opportunity; neither team allowed any shorthanded goals either. This lackluster powerplay performance is something that both sides will likely look to improve upon in future matchups.

As fans look ahead, they can catch Arizona's next game when they visit Nashville Predators at Bridgestone Arena on February 11th at Bridgestone Arena located in Nashville, Tennessee (ZIP code:37203). Fans can tune into ESPN+ online or watch locally on BSSO channel number:646-1 or SCRIPPS depending on their location for live coverage starting at approximately midnight local time.
