At the Wells Fargo Center, home of the Flyers, both teams started cautiously with the Coyotes managing to break through first. The opening period saw them take a lead with one goal, setting an early pace for the game. However, as play progressed into the second period, momentum shifted when both teams added two goals each to their tallies. Despite a strong start and maintaining an even strength throughout most of the match, Arizona could not sustain their lead into the final period where they were held scoreless while Philadelphia netted three goals.

The Coyotes' offensive efforts resulted in three goals from twenty-three shots on goal and nine points overall including six assists. Their shooting percentage for this matchup was thirteen percent which was slightly below their opponents' fifteen percent. On faceoffs however, they struggled winning only twenty-nine out of seventy attempts resulting in a forty-one percent success rate.

Defensively speaking, Arizona's goaltender faced thirty-four shots and made twenty-nine saves but allowed four goals during regular play and one additional empty-net goal towards the end of third period. This performance led to an overall save percentage rounding up to one hundred percent excluding empty-net situations.

Special teams did not fare well for Arizona either; despite having four powerplay opportunities they failed to capitalize on any of them managing just one shot on target during these chances. Conversely though their penalty kill was effective as they prevented any powerplay goals from five shorthanded situations facing five shots and making all five saves required.
