In an evenly matched contest at Mullett Arena, the Arizona Coyotes put up a resilient fight but ultimately fell short against the Vancouver Canucks. Despite a strong goaltending performance that saw them save 31 out of 33 shots, it wasn't enough to secure victory. The Coyotes' lone goal came during one of their three powerplay opportunities where they capitalized with six shots on target and two assists contributing to their total points tally.

The home team's effort was evident in their physical play as they delivered 33 hits throughout the game and blocked nine shots from reaching their netminder. However, puck control proved challenging for the Coyotes as they lost possession more often than not during faceoffs with only a 41 percent success rate compared to the Canucks' dominant 59 percent.

On offense, Arizona managed to fire off 21 shots but found converting those chances into goals difficult against Vancouver's solid defense and goaltending which boasted an impressive save percentage of one hundred percent. The powerplay unit did find some success for both teams; each scored one goal on three opportunities while demonstrating effective special teams play.

The Canucks were able to edge out ahead thanks largely to their second-period performance where they scored one goal and followed up with another in the third period. Their winning goal stood as testament to their ability to capitalize on scoring opportunities despite having fewer overall attempts than Arizona.
