First Period


The opening period was a defensive battle with neither team able to find the back of the net. The Oilers managed to put pressure on with 19 even-strength shots but were unable to capitalize. Connor McDavid and Evan Bouchard each contributed an assist, showcasing their playmaking abilities early on.


Second Period

Third Period


In the third period, Zach Hyman gave Edmonton hope by scoring on a powerplay opportunity assisted by McDavid and Bouchard. However, this spark wasn't enough as Montreal responded with two more goals solidifying their lead. Goaltender Calvin Pickard made 23 saves for Edmonton but faced relentless pressure from the Canadiens' offense led by standout performances from Juraj Slafkovský and Jake Evans.


Jakub Dobes stood tall in goal for Montreal making crucial saves throughout all periods which earned him recognition as one of the game's stars alongside his teammates Slafkovský and Evans.
