First Period


The opening period saw both teams testing each other's defenses. The Panthers struck first with a goal from Carter Verhaeghe, who capitalized on an assist from Aaron Ekblad. This early lead set the tone for Florida's aggressive play throughout the match.

Third Period


As tensions rose in the final period, Ottawa's Claude Giroux managed to find the back of the net, narrowing Florida's lead. However, Sergei Bobrovsky stood firm between the pipes for Florida with 17 saves overall, ensuring that Ottawa couldn't capitalize further on their chances.


Despite being outshot slightly by Ottawa (21 to 19), Florida maintained composure and executed their game plan effectively. Their defensive efforts were highlighted by blocking numerous attempts and maintaining pressure on Ottawa’s forwards.
