They opened strong with 32 points in the first quarter but were outscored by the Bulls in the second quarter by eight points. The third and fourth quarters saw them add another combined total of 50 points to their tally before pushing into overtime where they scored an additional 20 points.

Cleveland's performance was marked by impressive statistics: they made 45 field goals out of a total of 104 attempts, translating to a shooting percentage of around 43 percent from the field. From beyond the arc, they were more efficient, hitting an impressive rate of about 41 percent with 22 three-pointers made out of 54 attempts. However, free throws were less successful for them as they only managed to convert approximately 58 percent from the line.

Defensively, Cleveland also put up solid numbers; they blocked a notable total of eleven shots and came away with seven steals during the game. Their rebounding efforts led them to secure a total of fifty rebounds – thirty-nine personal rebounds along with eleven team rebounds – which included five offensive boards that contributed to second-chance opportunities.

Despite these efforts and leading for over forty minutes during regulation time while establishing their biggest lead at twelve points, it wasn't enough to secure victory against Chicago's persistence. The Cavaliers' bench contributed thirty-four points but struggled defensively as indicated by their defensive rating being slightly higher than their offensive rating.

On Chicago's side, resilience was key as they fought back throughout each quarter and excelled particularly in double overtime where they scored seventeen points compared to Cleveland's eight. Their efficiency on court was evident through higher overall shooting percentages including an outstanding eighty-two percent from free throw line which played a crucial role in sealing their win after two extra periods.
