The Suns started strong with an impressive first quarter tallying 30 points but were outdone by the Nuggets' explosive 41 points. The home team managed to keep up in the second quarter adding another 33 points to their score while holding Denver to 29. However, despite their efforts and leading for a brief three minutes and three seconds with a modest lead of three points, Phoenix couldn't maintain dominance over Denver.

Phoenix's performance was highlighted by their commendable free throw accuracy which stood at an impressive ninety-two percent from twenty-six attempts. They also showcased defensive strength with nine blocks and secured fifty-one rebounds throughout the game – forty-three personal and eight team rebounds combined. Offensively, they made thirty-nine field goals out of eighty-four attempts resulting in a forty-six percent success rate and converted nine out of twenty-seven three-point shots.

Despite these efforts, turnovers proved costly for Phoenix as they gave up possession twelve times which led to eleven points for Denver. Additionally, one player from the Suns was fouled out during play which might have impacted their on-court dynamics.

On the other side of the court, Denver displayed efficient scoring across all quarters after their initial burst in Q1. Their field goal percentage was fifty-seven percent with fifty successful shots out of eighty-eight attempts including twelve three-pointers made from thirty-two tries. The Nuggets also had an effective night distributing assists with thirty-eight recorded assists contributing significantly to their win alongside ten fast break points.

Denver's defense contributed eight steals and four blocks while drawing seventeen fouls that helped them stay ahead through most parts of the game—leading for over forty-three minutes—and achieving their largest lead of seventeen points.
