The Suns entered the game with confidence but found themselves outpaced by a relentless Rockets offense. The home team's efforts were not enough to overcome Houston's scoring runs, despite Phoenix putting up an impressive 109 points themselves. The Suns showcased their offensive capabilities with a solid field goal percentage of 46 and converted on 76 percent from the free-throw line. However, their three-point shooting was less effective than usual, hitting only 31 percent from beyond the arc.

Phoenix's bench contributed significantly with 39 points but was overshadowed by Houston's fast break efficiency where they scored 28 points at a remarkable rate of 77 percent. The Suns managed to score only half that amount in fast break situations. Additionally, turnovers proved costly for Phoenix as they gave up possession on 19 occasions which led to Houston capitalizing with an additional 19 points off those turnovers.

Defensively, Phoenix had moments of resilience registering six blocks and drawing more fouls than their opponents did (22). Yet it wasn't enough to contain Houston who led for most of the game and built up a commanding lead that peaked at twenty points.

One bright spot for Phoenix was their performance in paint where they scored forty-four points while maintaining an efficient two-point field goal percentage at fifty-four percent. Despite this effort inside and having six steals to their name which is indicative of active hands defensively, it didn't translate into controlling the game flow or momentum.
