Suns Outlast Nuggets in Overtime Battle at Ball Arena

The Phoenix Suns, with a record of 36-26, edged out the Denver Nuggets, who currently stand at 42-20, in an intense overtime clash that ended with a score of 117-107. The Suns' performance was highlighted by their ability to maintain a lead for over 37 minutes and achieving their biggest lead of the game at 22 points.

The Suns demonstrated remarkable efficiency on the court with an overall efficiency rating of 139. They were particularly effective from beyond the arc, sinking 15 out of 34 three-point attempts which translates to a solid three-point percentage of 44 percent. Their free throw accuracy was also notable as they made good on 18 out of their total 22 attempts, rounding off to an impressive free throw percentage of approximately 82 percent.


Defensively, the Suns were formidable; they recorded seven blocks and nine steals during the game. The team's defensive efforts contributed to limiting the Nuggets' scoring opportunities and maintaining a defensive rating just shy of one hundred points per possession. Offensively, Phoenix showed balance across the board with contributions from both starters and bench players who added up to twenty-three points.

Rebounding played a crucial role in this matchup as well; Phoenix secured fifty-nine rebounds including eleven offensive boards which led to fourteen second-chance points. Their ball movement was also commendable as evidenced by their thirty-two assists compared to only ten turnovers throughout the entire game.


On Denver's side despite falling short in overtime, they put up a strong fight during regulation time leading for over eleven minutes and even managing a seven-point advantage at one point in the contest. The Nuggets showcased speed on fast breaks accumulating twenty-six fast break points from seventeen attempts which is indicative of their sixty-five percent success rate on such plays.
