Phoenix Suns Overcome Cavaliers in a Duel at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse

The Phoenix Suns, with a record of 38-27, edged out the Cleveland Cavaliers, who now stand at 41-24, in a closely contested match that ended 117-111. The Suns' victory was marked by their dominance in scoring during the third quarter and their ability to maintain a lead throughout the game.

The Phoenix Suns showcased an impressive offensive performance at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse. They led for nearly 19 minutes and achieved their biggest lead of nine points. Their efficiency on the court was evident with an overall team efficiency rating of 138 and an offensive rating of approximately 124. The Suns were particularly effective from inside the paint, converting 77 percent of their attempts into points and totaling 34 points from this area.


Defensively, the Phoenix Suns managed to block six shots while also accumulating eight steals over the course of the game. Their defensive efforts translated into limiting the Cavaliers to just one quarter where they scored more than thirty points after their explosive first quarter output.

On offense, every possession counted for the Suns as they made good use of them by achieving an offensive points per possession rate of about 1.24. They shot with precision from both two-point range (65 percent) and three-point range (38 percent), which contributed significantly to maintaining their lead against a formidable opponent.


The bench played its role efficiently as well though contributing only six bench points; however, it was through collective effort that saw them outrebound Cleveland with forty-six rebounds compared to forty-five by The Cavaliers. This included twelve crucial offensive rebounds which led to thirteen second-chance points for The Suns.

For The Cavaliers, despite falling short on this occasion, there were notable performances including achieving a higher assist-turnover ratio than The Suns at approximately 2.5 and securing twenty points off turnovers compared to sixteen by Phoenix.
