At Birmingham's Protective Stadium, the Florida Atlantic Owls were unable to secure victory against the home team UAB Blazers. The game saw the Owls' offense accumulate a total of 279 yards compared to their opponents' more dominant performance. Despite their efforts, FAU's passing game managed 241 yards through air and added another modest sum on ground with just 38 rushing yards.

FAU's quarterback endured a challenging day under center as he was sacked eight times and threw three interceptions; one of which was returned by UAB for a touchdown. The passing efficiency was reflected in his rating of just over 107 and completion percentage hovering around 58 percent. On third down conversions, FAU showed some resilience converting eight out of seventeen attempts while also succeeding on half of their fourth-down tries.

The running game for FAU didn't fare much better as they averaged only one yard per carry and secured three first downs via rushes throughout the entire game. They did manage to find pay dirt once on ground but were stifled otherwise by an unyielding Blazers defense that limited them significantly.

In terms of special teams play, FAU had four punts averaging an impressive fifty-four yards each but could not capitalize on field position as they scored no touchdowns from returns or blocks. Their lone attempt at a field goal missed its mark leaving points off board which could have been crucial in such an important conference matchup.

On defense side for Florida Atlantic University, there were some bright spots despite loss; they recorded two forced fumbles recovering one while also registering six tackles for loss including one sack totaling eight lost yards for UAB's offense.

Looking ahead after this tough defeat away from home turf, fans can look forward to watching next game when Florida Atlantic University travels up north to face Charlotte 49ers at Jerry Richardson Stadium located in Charlotte NC zip code area:28262. This upcoming encounter is scheduled for October twenty-first year twenty-one at seven thirty PM Eastern Time and will be broadcasted live on CBS Sports Network available via satellite channel two hundred twenty-one ensuring supporters won't miss any action from this anticipated conference clash.
