Owls Soar Over Blazers: Florida Atlantic's Offensive Fireworks Light Up Flagler Credit Union Stadium

The Florida Atlantic Owls improved their record to 3-3 with a commanding victory over the UAB Blazers, who now stand at 2-4. The game, held at Flagler Credit Union Stadium in Boca Raton, ended with a score of 53-33 in favor of the home team.

First Quarter


The Owls set the tone early by scoring 21 points while keeping the Blazers scoreless. Caden Veltkamp led the charge with precise passing that resulted in multiple first downs and touchdowns. His connection with wide receiver Asaad Waseem was particularly effective, as Waseem recorded a touchdown reception during this period.


Second Quarter


Both teams found their rhythm offensively in the second quarter, each adding 14 points to their tally. For FAU, running back Kaden Shields-Dutton showcased his rushing prowess by securing two touchdowns on short runs. Meanwhile, UAB responded with two touchdowns of their own but struggled to contain FAU's dynamic offense.


Third Quarter


The third quarter saw an offensive explosion from both sides as they combined for 31 points—16 from UAB and 15 from FAU. The Owls' defense stepped up with CJ Doggette Jr., who recorded two sacks and disrupted UAB’s quarterback consistently throughout this period.


Fourth Quarter


In a quieter fourth quarter, both teams managed only three points each. However, it was enough for FAU to maintain their lead comfortably until the final whistle blew.


Florida Atlantic's overall performance was highlighted by efficient passing and rushing attacks that accumulated over 490 total yards against UAB’s defense. Garrison Smith contributed significantly on special teams by converting all six extra-point attempts flawlessly.
