Cardinal Stadium Hosts Clash Between Louisville Cardinals and Kentucky Wildcats in College Football Showdown

The Louisville Cardinals faced a tough challenge at Cardinal Stadium against the Kentucky Wildcats, with the home team's season record evening out at 6-6 after a 21-52 game. The Wildcats improved their record to 9-3, showcasing their offensive strength on the field.

In front of a crowd of over 55,000 fans, the Cardinals put up a valiant effort but were ultimately outpaced by the Wildcats' aggressive play. The home team managed to accumulate a total of 352 yards during the game, with their passing game contributing 208 yards to this tally. Despite being sacked once, the Cardinals' quarterback achieved an impressive passer rating of approximately 135 and completed nearly 68 percent of his passes.


The rushing offense was also active for the Cardinals, gaining an average of about five yards per carry for a total of 144 rushing yards. They were successful in all three red zone attempts they made during this encounter. However, they struggled on third down conversions with only three successes out of nine attempts and failed both fourth down conversion tries.

Louisville's receiving corps had an efficient day as well; they caught passes totaling up to 208 yards including one touchdown reception that spanned eight yards. On special teams, kickoffs traveled for an aggregate distance of 253 yards with two resulting in touchbacks.


Defensively speaking, while no sacks were recorded by Louisville's defense against Kentucky's quarterback nor any interceptions made by their secondary unit; they did manage six tackles for loss which pushed back Kentucky’s offense by seven total yards lost due to these defensive efforts.

Penalties seemed under control as only three infractions were called against them amounting to just twenty-four penalty yards assessed throughout four quarters played between both sides.


Looking ahead after this challenging encounter at Cardinal Stadium; fans can mark their calendars for when The Louisville Cardinals will next take on Air Force Falcons at Gerald J. Ford Stadium in Dallas on December twenty-eighth at eight fifteen PM Eastern Time.
