Cardinals Clipped by Wildcats at Kroger Field in Football Showdown

In an intense showdown at Kroger Field, the Louisville Cardinals were unable to overcome their rivals, the Kentucky Wildcats. Despite a valiant effort on both sides of the ball, it was not enough to secure victory. The Cardinals' offense accumulated a total of 309 yards throughout the game. They managed to convert two touchdowns; one through their passing game which resulted in a longest completion of 27 yards and another via their rushing attack that saw them break through for a longest run of 22 yards.


The Louisville team's quarterback had an average passing day with a completion percentage rounded to 63 percent for 145 yards and one touchdown but was intercepted twice which contributed to three turnovers for the team. On the ground, they were more effective with an average gain per rush attempt close to four yards resulting in nine first downs.

Special teams play saw punts totaling four attempts with an average distance around forty-four yards each and two landing inside the twenty-yard line. However, no field goals were made as none were attempted during this contest.


Defensively, Louisville managed two sacks totaling fourteen lost yardage for Kentucky and five tackles for loss amounting to twenty-two negative yardage against them. Penalties seemed controlled as only five infractions occurred costing them fifty-seven penalty yards.
