The game at Truist Field was nothing short of an offensive clinic by the Louisville Cardinals. The team's passing attack was particularly effective, as they amassed 295 yards through the air and scored four touchdowns. Their quarterback displayed remarkable efficiency with a passer rating of 212 and completed 68 percent of his passes, including a longest completion for 55 yards which also resulted in a touchdown.

The ground game complemented Louisville's aerial assault as they churned out an additional 225 rushing yards. Their running backs found paydirt three times, with one rush breaking free for an impressive longest run that culminated in a touchdown from 41 yards out. This balanced attack contributed to their total yardage count which stood at an astounding 516 yards.

Special teams also played a pivotal role in this contest for Louisville. A kickoff return stretched across the entire length of the field for a touchdown, electrifying fans and adding crucial points on the board. The special teams unit demonstrated its reliability by successfully converting all eight extra point attempts and both field goal attempts, with one splitting the uprights from as far away as 36 yards.

Defensively, while both teams struggled to contain each other's offenses, Louisville managed to force three fumbles—recovering one—and intercepted two passes during critical moments in this closely contested game.

As for penalties, discipline was maintained reasonably well considering the high stakes; however, there were eight penalties called against them resulting in ninety penalty yards assessed against them.
