First Quarter


The game began with a defensive standoff as both teams tested each other's strategies. The only points came from the Boilers' field goal, giving them an early lead of 3-0. Despite this initial setback, Ohio State's defense held strong, preventing further advances.


Second Quarter


The second quarter saw a dramatic shift in momentum as Julian Sayin led the charge for Ohio State. Completing 27 out of 33 passes for a total of 303 yards and one touchdown, Sayin showcased his precision passing skills. His connection with wide receiver Jeremiah Smith was particularly effective; Smith caught ten passes for an impressive total of 137 yards and scored one touchdown on a remarkable 35-yard play.


Third Quarter


Both teams returned from halftime without adding any points to their scores during the third quarter. However, Ohio State maintained control over possession time and continued to apply pressure on Purdue’s offense through strategic defensive plays.


Fourth Quarter


In the final quarter, running back Bo Jackson made significant contributions by rushing for a total of 75 yards on fourteen attempts. His longest run spanned an impressive seventy yards that set up crucial scoring opportunities for his team. Additionally, CJ Donaldson added two rushing touchdowns that solidified Ohio State’s commanding lead.


On special teams’ performance front – kicker Jayden Fielding remained perfect by converting all four extra-point attempts along with two field goals including one from forty-nine yards out which further extended their advantage over Purdue who managed only seven more points before time expired.


Ohio State’s defense was equally formidable throughout this matchup; cornerback Jermaine Mathews Jr.'s interception in particular thwarted any potential comeback efforts by Purdue late into fourth period ensuring victory belonged firmly within grasping hands belonging solely unto them alone!
