Wildcats Dominate Golden Bears at McKale Center in Women's Basketball Showdown

The Arizona Wildcats, ranked 17th, delivered a commanding performance against the California Golden Bears at the McKale Center. The Wildcats' record now stands at an impressive 80-57 against their opponents.

Arizona Wildcats VS California Golden Bears

From the opening quarter, the Arizona Wildcats set a strong pace with a score of 12-10. They continued to build on their lead with each passing quarter, outscoring the Golden Bears consistently. By halftime, they had extended their lead to 33-20 and didn't look back from there.

The home team's offense was firing on all cylinders as they shot an impressive 52 percent from the field and an outstanding 86 percent from the free-throw line. Their two-point shooting was particularly effective, hitting at a rate of 58 percent. The Wildcats also showcased their defensive skills with eight steals and two blocks.

Arizona's teamwork shone through with a total of 22 assists, demonstrating their ability to share the ball effectively. They capitalized on turnovers by scoring 23 points off them and added another layer to their offense with fast break points totaling 19.

On top of that, Arizona dominated inside by scoring 38 points in paint and grabbing seven offensive rebounds which contributed to their total rebound count of 40 for the game.

In contrast, despite putting up a valiant effort in quarters three and four where they scored more than half of their total points (37), California struggled throughout most parts of this matchup. Shooting only around one-third from both field goals and three-point range hindered them significantly.

California did excel at free throws making over four-fifths but it wasn't enough to close down Arizona's lead or keep up with them on scoreboard or court play where they were outperformed in nearly every statistical category including assists where they only managed half compared to Arizona’s tally.

The next game for The Wildcats is set against Utah Utes at McKale Center located in Tuscon on February 18th scheduled for broadcast on Pac-12 Network. Fans can expect another exciting match-up as The Wildcats look forward to maintaining their momentum before home supporters once again.
