Fresno State Bulldogs Set to Clash with Arizona State Sun Devils at Footprint Center in Women's Basketball Showdown

As the Fresno State Bulldogs prepare to face off against the Arizona State Sun Devils at the Footprint Center, fans are eager for insights into how their team might fare in this upcoming women's basketball game. The Bulldogs have had a rocky performance recently, and it seems they may be entering this game as underdogs.

Fresno State Bulldogs VS Arizona State Sun Devils

In their last outing on December 9 against Cal Poly Mustangs, Fresno State struggled defensively, allowing 84 points. The Mustangs shot an impressive 66 percent from inside the arc and 41 percent from three-point range. This defensive lapse is something that FRES will need to address before stepping onto the court in Phoenix.

However, there's a silver lining from their previous games that could signal a turnaround for FRES. On December 3 against UC San Diego Tritons, Fresno State showcased their ability to capitalize on turnovers, scoring 28 points off of them and securing a win with a score of 71-52. Their three-point shooting was particularly notable at an excellent rate of over half made (52 percent). If they can replicate this level of play—especially from beyond the arc—they could pose a significant threat to ASU.

The key for FRES lies in consistency and defense. They must tighten up their defense which allowed Cal Poly too many easy baskets in the paint (48 points). Additionally, maintaining strong offensive pressure as they did against UC San Diego will be crucial.

Arizona State Sun Devils will not make it easy for them though; they are known for being formidable opponents on their home turf. It will take more than just average play for FRES to come out on top; it requires strategic execution and perhaps even some bold moves by coach Jaime White.

Fans should expect an intense matchup where every possession counts and where Fresno State Bulldogs' resilience is tested once again. With proper adjustments and focus on exploiting ASU’s weaknesses while fortifying their own defense, there’s potential for an upset by FRES despite recent struggles.

The scheduled tip-off is set for December 20 at 7:00 PM local time at Footprint Center in Phoenix. Fans unable to attend can stay updated through local sports networks or follow live updates online as both teams battle it out on court.
