In the opening quarter, both teams came out strong, but it was the Knicks who managed to edge ahead with a score of 27-23. The Pacers struggled to find their rhythm early on, despite Myles Turner's defensive efforts that included three blocks. Bennedict Mathurin led his team offensively with an impressive field goal percentage of 60 percent and contributed significantly by scoring points in crucial moments.

Second Quarter

As play continued into the second quarter, Tyrese Haliburton showcased his playmaking abilities by dishing out six assists for Indiana. However, despite these efforts and Pascal Siakam's contribution on both ends with five assists and six rebounds, New York extended their lead further by scoring an additional 29 points compared to Indiana's tally of just 22 points during this period.

The Pacers' defense was tested as they allowed several fast-break opportunities for their opponents while struggling themselves from beyond-the-arc shooting only at about one-third accuracy rate throughout much part due largely because they couldn't capitalize effectively when given chances inside paint area either which ultimately cost them dearly later down stretch too!
