From the initial puck drop to the final horn, it was clear that this game would be decided by special teams and goaltending. The New Jersey Devils capitalized on their powerplay opportunities by scoring one goal out of five chances. This critical powerplay goal contributed to their total tally of three goals on 37 shots against an even-strength Kraken defense. The Devils' shooting accuracy was evident as they boasted an eight percent shooting percentage throughout the game.

Defensively, New Jersey's performance was equally robust. They blocked a significant number of shots from Seattle—18 in total—showing their commitment to team defense and helping secure their goaltender's win credit with only one goal allowed on 28 shots faced. The goaltender's save percentage stood at an impeccable hundred percent for both teams; however, it was New Jersey's netminder who emerged victorious due to fewer goals against.

The faceoff circle saw dominance from the home side as well; winning sixty percent of fifty faceoffs showed control over one key aspect of possession play. In contrast, Seattle struggled with only forty percent success rate in faceoffs.

Seattle Kraken managed just one even-strength goal despite generating twenty-eight shots throughout all periods combined and could not capitalize during three powerplay opportunities due to strong penalty killing by New Jersey.
