The Charlotte Hornets faced a challenging game against the Miami Heat, concluding with a score of 87-104. The Hornets now hold an 8-29 record, while the Heat's record improves to 23-16.

The game at the Kaseya Center in Miami saw the Hornets struggle to find their rhythm early on, trailing behind with just 16 points in the first quarter and falling further behind with only 15 points in the second. Despite a valiant effort in the third quarter where they scored an impressive 30 points, and another strong showing of 26 points in the fourth, it wasn't enough to close down on their opponents.

The Charlotte team's overall field goal percentage was a modest 35 percent compared to Miami's more efficient shooting at 49 percent. From beyond the arc, things didn't fare much better for Charlotte as they shot just 24 percent from three-point range. However, they did manage to convert on free throws with a respectable rate of 73 percent.

Defensively, both teams were active around the rim; however, it was Miami who edged out with six blocks over Charlotte's three. Steals were even across both teams at five each. The rebounding battle was fiercely contested as well; Charlotte managed to grab a total of 57 rebounds - including an impressive haul of offensive rebounds at seventeen - but still fell short against Miami’s fifty-three.

One bright spot for Charlotte was their second-chance efforts which yielded them twenty-three points from seventeen attempts – showcasing their determination under pressure despite being unable to maintain possession consistently throughout most parts of play.
